What are “natural” pain therapies?
”Natural” pain therapies such as Prolotherapy, Neural Therapy, Medical Acupuncture, Laser/Micro-current, PulseWave Therapy, Cupping and Auricular Therapy stimulate the body to heal and recover from injuries and accidents, sprains and strains and other over-use and chronic pains. Rather than using medicines and procedures that cover the symptoms and/or treat the symptoms rather than the cause of the chronic pain, these therapies are aimed at restoring function of the cells and tissues so that they may lead to healing of the primary problem, rather than just the symptoms. As the body is able to restore normal cell function, micro-circulation and physiology, many chronic and acute pain syndromes are resolved, even when conventional therapies have often failed. Through these natural therapeutics, Dr. Frank has helped many patients regain function and daily activities, whether routine daily tasks or high performance athletic competition.
Prolotherapy: Remodeling degenerative joints, Reconstructing ligaments & tendons:
Prolotherapy, also known as Proliferative Therapy, Sclerotherapy or Stimulated Ligament Repair (SLR), was developed by Dr. George S. Hackett, M.D. since the 1950s. Critical to understanding healing from accidents and injuries and preventing chronic pain and disability, is recognizing that inflammation from injury can be good! Nature’s inflammatory response, if allowed to follow course, may lead to an influx of regenerative cells, Growth Factors and tissue healing factors that will lead to greater integrity of injured ligaments & tendons and of degenerative joint surfaces.
Indications for Prolotherapy may include, after proper history and physical exam, sprains & strains, Degenerative Joint Disease (DJD) and osteoarthritis of the knees, hips, back & shoulders, Sacro-Iliac Syndrome, Osteitis Pubis, Trochanteric Bursitis, Temporo-Mandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ), “Tennis Elbow” (epicondylitis), Rotator Cuff Syndrome and A-C Shoulder Joint Syndrome, Plantar Fasciitis, Chondromalacia Patellae, Osgood-Schlatter Syndrome, bunion deformity, tenosynovitis and more. Further, many chronic pains result from “ligamentous laxity”, where seemingly minor injuries have led to weakening of ligaments and tendons, resulting in shifting the load of support to muscles and soft tissues, often with associated chronic and debilitating pain.
Prolotherapy often leads to enhanced healing and repair, increased collagen growth, cartilage remodeling, ligament and tendon strength and support. While Prolotherapy stimulates repair, arthritis risk is decreased and rehabilitation time and costs are typically dramatically reduced over other conventional therapies.
Neural Therapy: Freedom from Chronic Pain & delayed healing, Scar therapy :
Neural therapy was developed in Germany by Drs. Ferdinand and Walter Hüneke since 1925 and has led many patients with chronic pain and delayed healing to find hope and freedom from their pain and suffering. Initially recognized by treating abnormal scars, Neural Therapy has expanded over the years to include possible treatment for many kinds of chronic pain and dysfunctions, including chronic back pain (upper or lower), failed back surgery syndrome, Headaches, abdominal/pelvic pains & “adhesions” pain, Post-Herpetic Neuralgia (Shingles pain), menstrual pains and dysfunction, slow wound healing, recurrent tonsillitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis & rhinitis, and more. Neural Therapy often “unlocks” chronic pain patterns that have failed many other conventional therapies.
Laser/Acupuncture: Acupuncture without needles!
A leading expert in Medical Acupuncture Therapy in the United States and internationally known for many years, Dr. Frank has used acupuncture to help many patients find relief from pain and dysfunction, through the gentle, yet profound, stimulation with acupuncture. Now, with the WeberLaser, patients may be treated without traditional needles, but with "needles of light". Therapy can be profound and lasting for many persons, even when conventional therapies have failed. Ask Dr. Frank if Laser Therapy may be a solution for you.
Cupping: Myofascial therapy from Acupuncture traditions:
Often regarded as an Acupuncture-related technique, cupping has been practiced by many different cultures for treating myofascial (musculo-skeletal) pains and more. While relatively gentle in its application, Cupping may often lead a patient to recovery that has not been experienced with other conventional therapies.
As a leading expert in Auricular Therapy in the United States and internationally known for many years, Dr. Frank has used Auricular Therapy to help many patients find freedom from pain and disability, as well as for addictive or compulsive behaviors, as the entire body is neurologically projected to the ear. Auricular Therapy may be practiced with micro-current electrical stimulation, magnets or other devices and avoid needles. Therapy can be profound and lasting for many, even when conventional therapies have failed. Ask Dr. Frank if Auricular Therapy may be a solution for you.
Dr. Frank has taught internationally in Congresses, Symposia and Seminars for many years and is recognized as a leader in Medical Acupuncture and Auricular Therapy.
Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine: Focusing on maintaining or regaining Health and Wellness, rather than simply managing diseases and symptoms, as is commonly the case with conventional medicine.
Through understanding the challenges that are faced with metabolic, hormonal, immune and other issues, Dr. Frank has developed Wellness Programs that are designed to help the body overcome toxicities and nutrient deficiencies and then utilizing various Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) of Integrative Health approaches to actually address the problem underlying the set of symptoms or the diagnosed diseases or syndromes, rather than simply manage these conditions, which just "kicks the can down the road". We want to help people tap into their innate healing capabilities whenever possible, and it is far more possible than most conventional allopathic physicians understand.
We address hormonal imbalances, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Fibromyalgia, Lyme Disease, Shingles (Herpes Zoster) and others. We also help with advanced weight loss, GERD (Gastric Esophageal Reflux Disorder), Irritable Bowel, Gluten Intolerance, Chronic Interstitial Cystitis, Asthma/Emphysema/COPD, as well as with a host of chronic pain-related conditions, including arthritis of the knees, hips, low back and neck pain, shoulder pain and rotator cuff injuries, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis/heel spur, ankle weakness and recurrent sprains, costo-chondritis and more.
Biomagnetic Pair Therapy (BPT) uses pairs of magnets to neutralize the polarity and the pH (acidity/alkalinity) of tissues and organs in the body. These distortions of healthy polarity and pH may lead to disease-causing pathogens in the body, including either viruses, parasites, bacteria and/or fungi. Dr. Isaac Goiz Durán, a Mexican physician, surgeon and physiotherapist, first discovered the principles behind BPT while treating an AIDS patient. After putting two magnets of opposite polarity onto the areas he identified with distorted polarity and pH, the patient recovered shortly thereafter and remains healthy today. Dr. Durán proposed that this pair of points, the Biomagnetic Pair (BP), has a relationship to each other for harboring the pathogens that cause disease. Furthermore, according to Dr. Goiz, pathogens resonate with each other and cause the collapse of the immune system. By placing the BP magnets on the identified locations, the local polarity and pH of the tissue or organ is neutralized and pathogens are promptly or soon thereafter naturally eliminated. Since 1988, Dr. Goiz and his colleagues and students have discovered hundreds of such BP relating to a wide variety of diseases afflicting humankind.
